“What’s going on?” Celeste whispered, as she sat down.

Tara leaned in her direction. “There was no hail from either Zoktum vessel. Their weapons are also powered down.”

“This sounds like a replay of what happened in the valley,” Celeste mumbled.

“Captain, I have an incoming transmission from one of the Zoktum vessels,” the comms officer reported.

Tara sighed. “Put it on the view screen.”

Celeste caught a glimpse of Asta grabbing hold of the sides of his seat. Although the male Truitian had helped them escape and kept them safe from the gerok, he was facing a situation far above whatever he could have dreamt of. Hopefully, in time to come, they could help him grow and learn. The image of the male Zoktum they had encountered in the valley on the surface appeared.
